Training
Agent trainees are usually sent to FLETC, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center located in Glynco, Georgia. They’re then enrolled in CITP, the Criminal Investigator Program. It’s a 10 week time period where it is designed for them to train federal investigators in areas of criminal law and investigative techniques. If completion of the CITP, it is then followed by a 17 week course at the Secret Service training academy. This course focuses on specific Secret Services policies and procedures. They’re provided with basic knowledge and advanced interfering access fraud and other financial criminal activity, protective intelligence investigations, physical protection techniques, protective advances and emergency medicine. But then after, Secret Service agents do still continue advanced training throughout their careers.
