The Secret Service is a federal organization that has various duties. It is a very professional, serious, and elite agency that has two responsibilities - to protect and to prevent. The agency was first founded in 1865 to (originally) stop the counterfeiting of money. Now, it has evolved to a larger branch of protection and order. The Secret Service has a lasting legacy which gives it a good reputation among other organizations in the U.S. So far, since 2003, it has “investigated and closed financial crimes cases where actual loss amounted to $3.7 billion and prevented a potential loss of more than $12 billion.”
